what do you mean with "romdat" ?

The Imagepacks on ECC will be made by using the CRC32 (you mean that ?)
Well, of course, there will be many Dumps (crc's) of the Games....
Maybe when i've finished the Atari-Imagepack, I try to make a Dos-Imagepack based on
the "DosCollection v.08" - Torrent (17 GB) . (created by a Guy on Pleasuredome) ;)

marlborojacl wrote:go to "emuControlCenter\ecc-system\system" and edit ecc_dosbox_system.ini. You have to add zip support both in [extension] and [parser] sections. Attached is my ini, just to be sure. When i'll finish the cd installation feature i'll put up a new ini with all cd images supported by daemon's tool.

Code: Select all

[EXTENSIONS]
img = 1
bin = 1
jrc = 1
zip = 1
[PARSER]
FileParserGeneric#dosbox = jrc, img, bin, zip
This is wrong!, now when a zip has good/medium/poor/none compression the CRC changes!, to import ZIP file correctly it should be this config:

Code: Select all

[EXTENSIONS]
zip = 1
[PARSER]
FileParserZip#dosbox = zip
So we let DOS games to be import like Arcade, so the game stays with the same CRC !!

What do you guys think?

For Dosbox there are no DATfiles, someone has to create these first :clown:, but nevertheless we can do this!, i'll start to create an imagepack also...

@Andreas,

1. Can an option to 'unpack all files' in the ECC config the next WIP??
2. Is it possible to use multiple parsers for a platform, like this:

Code: Select all

[EXTENSIONS]
img = 1
bin = 1
jrc = 1
zip = 1
[PARSER]
FileParserGeneric#dosbox = jrc, img, bin
FileParserZip#dosbox = zip

I have a clrmame Datfile for the DosCollection v.08 :smartass:
Because it's very big (zipped = 17 MB) I've uploaded it to RS.

btw.
you can DL the whole DosCollection from Pleasuredome or Underground Gamers.... ;)

One Question left.....
I have all my DosGames installed on an extern HD.
I don't want to replace them to the DosHD - Folder in ECC.
(and I can't do this, because I haven't enough space on my "ECC-HD" for all Dos-Games) :wacko:

So, is it possible to use another place (not ECC/user/dosbox/dosHD/) to collect the Games ?

The user has to click this option!, many platforms need to extract 2 or 3 files....not 1000MB :surrender: , please implement

As far as i know, you can remove the roms out the DOSBOX platform and RE-IMPORT them from the other place, right Andreas? (make a backup of you DB first!!)

It is possible to choose another destination, but there's no check for path, you have to change manually the path into the script. Besides, it's not meant to be compatible with already uncompressed games, as i'm building a complete suite for managing and savegame backup this way:
1) with Pismo zip mounting, i have access to original game data (WITHOUT SAVEGAMES, be sure to clean out the package), or game iso
2) the script will search for installed games in such way: for non-cd games installation of game resources is made by uncompressing zip into doshd folder and asking for setup and launch files; for cd games, it asks for setup executable, and then for installation folder, as ecc is not aware of installation directory. In cd case, the script will mantain an ini file with iso crc and installation path
@ECC: i could add an option to give the script an already installed game path, so no unzipping, if you have already uncompressed resources
3)If the game is installed, by double clicking game is launched, if Metainfo ID does not specify another command
i'm thinking about a "backup savegames" feature: by comparing files into the zip with files in DOSHD folders, i'll be able to find out every different file, and then backup users-mod or savegames
4) by keeping installation path, i could add an "unistall" feature, coupled with backup one (the script will ask to backup data before unistalling)

Let me know if such behaviours are adequate for mantaining dos games, i see no issue or need for other features by now

It only works with the "dosbox.conf" , that is stored in the "Dosbox-Folder"
Do not work with "self-made-configs" :?
