setting a separate emulator to work for certain games

Unread post by ToJPhantom » 10 Aug 2012, 06:21

Is there a way to make it so different games run in different emulators without having to change the emulator each time? For example Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrows runs better on no$gba then it does on desmume so is there a way to have desmume as my main emulator but have Dawn of Sorrows start in no$gba.

p.s. A feature that would be nice is being able to type in the genre yourself instead of having to pick from the list.
I'm the one who steps from the shadows, all trenchcoat and cigarette and arrogance, ready to deal with the madness.

A nice idea, hopefully we could implement htis some time, example: ECC remembers wich "alternative emulator you have choosen from the rom context menu" :yes_head:

This is not possible, because bevore v1.0 there was Romdb (long story) so all the genres have to be "typed" the same to store in the online database.
If people just type something in there, there could be spelling errors or wierd stuff, so we did not want that "junk" in our database, i hope you understand.
But if you miss some genre's please let me know, and maybe i could add them. :sorcerer:

I understand complete about not wanting "Junk" in your database! :yes_head: Some genre's I'd recommend are Adventure - Visual Novel (i.e. Phoenix Right), Adventure - Tactical RPG (i.e. Final Fantasy Tactics, Fire Emblem), Adventure - Survival Horror (i.e. Clocktower), Shoot 'em Up - Survival Horror (i.e. Moon, Resident Evil)

Hi ToJPhantom,

I've added these genres to ECC:
- Adventure - Visual Novel
- Adventure - Tactical RPG
- Adventure - Survival
- Shoot'em Up - Survival

Ps. Is better not to give another "genre" to a genre already, like Horror, Adventure, Sci-Fi, Action etc. :smartass:

Done in update 00527!
