Getting MESS emulator to run roms

Unread post by bobrpggamer » 12 Feb 2011, 22:42

Hey, I'm new to ECC and I love the Idea of it, but I am scripting illiterate.

I have tried all sorts of things to get MESS to run an Atari Jaguar rom, and the best I can do is leave the command line blank and run just the emulator and pick the roms directly from MESS. I have used project Tempest with no problem, but I prefer MESS for the MAME-Like interface and being able to save states when I need to, as Project Tempest does not have a Save State feature.

If there is anyone who knows how to set up mess to grab selected roms and run them, I would be grateful for the help.

Thank you for a great software program.

For Mess you'll need to use something like this as commandline parameters:

Code: Select all

jaguar -cart %roms%
Busy with:
image packs:
- EPOCH Super Cassette Vision, Exelvision EXL100
Platforms:
- Cybiko Xtreme
- Matsushita (Panasonic) National JR-200
- PDP-8, PDP-11, TRS-80 Model 100
- Tangerine Microtan 65, Terminal Computer SOL-20, Wang VS

thanks for the reply and help, but I don't know what

Code: Select all

means - without just the "[code]" in itself in the command line and just "Jaguar -cart %roms%" I get it to boot for a second and see "loading 0%" then quits on me. Which is quite an improvement believe it or not!

Sorry for being this dumb but I need to know the actual command of the [code] otherwise I am Clueless.

Thanks again.

hahahah :clown: te_lanus made a typo here, to put something in a code box you can use [ code] TEXT [ /code] like here (without spaces)

Code: Select all

TEXT
LOL, so indeed you can leave the [ code] away ;-)

maybe te_lanus can help you further with your setting.

thanks for all the help, but I can't get it to go into the cart directly. I have to start mess and then navigate to the roms in the mess interface.

No big deal though I am going to work on CD32 and CDTV Next as this is the only software that I know that will start winuae with an ISO image (I hope it works).

Thanks Again.
