Zaxth's Imagepacks

Unread post by Zaxth » 21 Jul 2012, 20:32

Since I find emucontrolcenter to be such a nice application for managing a larger collection of games on the pc, I thought I'd start giving my games a little more colour and a better presentation in the program. So I started sourcing covers from all over the internet, cutting them up so they fit with the program and importing them per title - suffice it to say this was a few days work for just one system.

Anyway heres the first of my public 'imagepack', it's for PS1 and contains 149 covers, some duplicates though due to multi cd games.

These are primarily rpg's and action games.
Since I have no interest in sport games for the system.

These are NTSC-U covers in high resolution scans for games from the same region, from the redump.org project.
They total 467mb Heres a preview:

I also have a PS2 pack ready with 148 titles in it. It's 1.84gb (quite high resolution scans), it's also based on redump.org files and is ntsc-u.
Like the PS1 pack it's focus is rpg's and action titels. This took a couple of days to get done as well

Gameboy Advance pack. Contains 398 images or 199 titles.
In most cases they are high quality scans. Theres a few average ones, nothing to be done about that I'm afraid.

Super Famicom/Nintendo Pack - Contains 344 high to very high resolution covers or 122 titles.

These are all the covers I've been able to acquire, they're of the most popular RPGs, Beat em ups and SHMUP's - I couldn't get a decent cover of Brainlord I'm afraid so it's not in.
No sport games, you would be better off just playing the latest of whatever NBA,FIFA,NHL or whatever you like than playing one of these older titles. Whereas the games in other genres are true originals in this age.

Now I must make a request as well, for the developers.
Can you please make it so that ctrl-leftmouse on a title opens the image center, and double clicking on an image in the image center opens the image in your default image handling program?

The way that it is now with having to go to the image center and then opening the folder and then opening the file is really nonsensical. And I'm not happy with the flash 3d gallery either.
But if you can make it so it opens your default image handling program (for most Windows Photo Viewer) by clicking in the imagecenter any user can use whatever works best for him or her.

A better idea might be to have a ctrl-leftmousebutton on a title would open the picture in your default image program or just clicking on them in the images tab, thus you can decide if you want to open imagecenter or not - from a useability viewpoint, the less buttons you have to press or click the better :D

Oh and if you download and like this, let me know here in the thread so I can know if I should continue doing it.

Yes, it's lot's of work, on the imagecenter we have lots of packs storer that came from users, so if users send in more, it would be a nice collection eventually!
Zaxth wrote:More packs on the way if people like these! Currently working on GBA, SNES and DS. :swing:
I like these, they are good!, can't wait for more!

Well since i am the only one developing, i could take a look if i could change that or implement such feature!, but i cannot promise anything! :online2long:

What is wrong with my "beautiful" 3D gallery?

Like i said, i for sure like you work!

Glad you like it!
Regarding the 3d gallery, it takes too long to load, and it lacks a zoom function. :/

Hahah :lmfao: , i can imagine that if you load images images that big, please understand it's a ECC feature....like a "plaything".
These are not flash gallery's programmed by ECC, but just freeware scripts to enjoy another "view" :clown:

Ahh I see. However the program still lacks the functionality of seeing the images properly, which is a must if you have a big collection and want to take a look at the covers and maybe read some of the text, which you can with these high res images :)

The PS1 & PS2 images have been placed on the ICC server :swinging: , you can now download them from within ECC, enjoy!

I'm working on getting GBA done, they will not be as high resolution unfortunately, but they'll still look good :)
After that it's SNES which will be quite high resolution. Then DS and after that probably N64 before moving on to the SEGA systems.
EDIT: oh right I shall also be doing NES ;)

Edit: Is there any different between ICC (Phoenix's version) and Zaxth?
