Hi All,

I just thought this would be nice if people could tell me if they miss an file extension, so i can add them to ECC, so...

Are there any missing file extensions?

Addon:

Atari ST: STC is also a missing file-extension.

:clapshout:

Additional question if following is updated in future versions (currently using V0.9.6 of ECC):

By inserting new ROMs in the database there comes up every time and for every inserted file extension the remark that the file-extension is used by different other systems and if we want to insert these roms. Is there an need for this or can this improved with only one sentence, for example:

"Do you really want to insert the new roms because the inserted file extensions are also in use by other systems?"

Hi cobylain,
thank you for your remarks to the missing extensions. Great research.

If you dont like these extension popups, you can activate silent rom parsing (no popup requests) in the configuration! (see screenshot bottom)

Well in my personal view, i really don't want to add 'cue' files, because these a plain text files < 1KB and could be easely edited...resulting in a diffent CRC32, it also depends wich program creates such a cue files for the iso, they are all different so we have 6 crc32 for 1 rom :?

Maybe we can write a script for it...because i have a bad feeling about adding 'cue' files....

Hello Phoenix,

you are right about the crc32, i didn't think about that. for me i use always the same naming convention inside the cue files (GameName - Track 01.iso, GameName - Track 02.mp3 and so on, and the most isos contained this names allready) I thought only about a faster scan ;) since scanning of the iso files uses so much time (and that for 96 isos). btw how can i manually add this extension, because without that i can't insert the games or only the iso files and that leads to missing audio tracks in NeoRaine. The only thing would then be to make real images (with nero for example) which were to big for my HD (sadly i don't know any virtual cd program that uses cue+iso+mp3)

thx for answering

Greetings

Hi Papabaer,

To add the extension for the NeoGeo CD, do the following:

open 'ecc-system\conf\ecc_ngcd_system.ini'

And change

Code: Select all

[EXTENSIONS]
iso = 1
[PARSER]
FileParserGeneric#ngcd = iso
into

Code: Select all

[EXTENSIONS]
iso = 1
cue = 1
[PARSER]
FileParserGeneric#ngcd = iso, cue

Hello Phoenix,

works great many thx. at first it didn't work, because there were no CRs in the ini. ichaecked a few others with more than one extension and tha also didn't contain CRs. After i inserted them (like in your post) everything worked fine. the only thing missing is that NeoRaine does not start the game direct (like other emus do) and it is needed to press "Play Game" an Nebula does not work, but this is emulator-related i think (and i must read the doc).

Thx again
