List Sorting

Unread post by Papabaer » 17 Nov 2009, 19:34

Hi,

yesterday i realized that (for example) my amiga adfs are not completely alphabetically sorted. a few roms are standing at the to of the list, where they did not belong:

Fascination - Disk 1
Wolfchild - Disk 2
Zak McKraken - Disk 1
Future Wars - Disk 1
Fascination - Disk 2
Zak McKraken - Disk 2
Future Wars - Disk 2
Wolfchild - Disk 2
007 James Bond - License to kill
007...

then the sorting order seems to be ok

i thought ecc use the names in oder of Metaname and when there is no Metaname then the plain Filename. i have no Metanames at the moment so the filename should be used, but why does ecc put the 8 files on the top of the list?

some times ago i had a sorting problem with snes roms, but there was the constellation that i thought ecc uses the zip-filenames, but it uses the filenames inside the zip (i.E. 007.zip -> inside Bond.smc so it uses Bond for the sorting order.

But my adfs are not packed inside a zip. what else could lead to that sorting disorder?

Have you tried "Empty datfile database" , just in case?

when i do this the order is correct, but when i then reimport the Datfile the order is again broken.

How are you importing a datfile?

If you do - RomDB - Import From internet (romdb) it should still be in order.

Are you using some other datfile?

Try pressing F2 - I think vicman mentioned it sorts the titles in order.

Sadly F2 does not help.

I import the datfile with "import online datfile" (translated from german ;) )
